“I completely endorse all of the [following] reviews. Ben has changed my entire view of pain and body mechanics.  As a physician, I have extensive personal and professional experience with pain management and health--but Ben brings an insight based on his own training and experience that surpasses the conventional medical community.  His approach involves identifying your body mechanics (ie areas of weakness, diminished flexibility, etc.) and he generates an individualized, illustrated "menu" of activities that promote movement, flexibility, strength and reduces chronic pain.  Instead of reaching for an ibuprofen, I punctuate my day with a few minutes of Ben-prescribed exercises and immediately feel symptomatic relief.

We all have busy schedules--but I do not fail to miss a session with Ben, and find myself following my menu 5-6 times weekly without fail.  With my recent ACL tear and postoperative recovery, he was able to modify my menu to incorporate physical therapy-type rehab while still addressing my other needs.

I recommend Ben at least weekly to a friend or colleague, and have had him work with my mother and athletic children because he has unique wisdom to offer anyone.  I am thankful to have found him and, for the first time in years, see a path to the pain-free, physically active lifestyle I wish to lead for the next many decades.”

“Since a very young age, I have always had poor posture, specifically rounded shoulders. My posture was the source of a lot of well-meaning but discouraging comments from friends, family, and even strangers. They told me to "keep my shoulders back" or "stand up straight." This was very frustrating because other people literally just did not understand that I wasn't capable of doing that. It wasn't a matter of just "remembering" to stand up straight. I am an extra tall person who had been sitting at a computer for over the last twenty years. Those years had locked me into a pretty specific position.

Anxious about the way I looked, I spent significant time and energy trying to fix my rounded shoulders. I tried DVD's and videos I found on the internet, but the advice did not stick. For awhile I started to believe that my posture was not correctable. Worse, I was having some neck problems and began resigning myself to a future of chronic pain.

Ben totally changed things for me. He immediately identified the totality of issues that were causing my poor posture. I thought I needed to "keep my back straight." But Ben explained the interconnected nature of our bodies and how it moves mechanically. What I needed was to build up strength and flexibility all over. In my legs, hips, feet, back -- everywhere. We started with really basic stretches and built up from there at a pace that was right for me. Ben's menus turned into a daily exercise routine that are now one of my favorite parts of the day.

I've made incredible progress and don't feel like I have bad posture anymore. Even more than fixing a decades long goal that at times I thought was impossible, Ben has given me a level of athletic confidence I've never had before. It feels great to feel positive about my posture and have so much more energy. Thanks Ben!”

“As someone who has struggled with chronic back issues, I needed to find a very special trainer who believes in a holistic approach, with attention to both posture and fitness. Not just someone who could work me out, but someone who could teach me how to get my body into alignment, all parts working together seamlessly, resulting in a functional, adaptive, pain-free form. Ben Baron is that guy! I no longer have back pain and my overall athletic performance has increased dramatically, particularly doing the things that I love (surfing, snowboarding, running and hiking)! Ben truly understands posture, strength, flexibility, and nutrition and makes the appropriate corrections to get you into the best shape of your life!”

“I'm a physician and have been seeing Ben for over a year. I had remarkable improvements in my chronic back pain, posture, and overall conditioning. I cant say enough good things about Ben, and the many patients I refer to him feel similarly. He is very knowledgeable about the body, techniques to improve fitness/chronic pain. More than anything he genuinely care about seeing you do better.”

“Training with Ben has been a life changing experience. Because of an Achilles tendon injury (and another older back injury) I was having a lot of muscular pain and tightness on one side of my body. I had tried a range of treatments which helped but did not have a permanent effect. Needless to say I was getting worried I would have to live with daily pain.

Ben first introduced a few simple exercises. After a month sticking to my simple daily menus, I could already feel the benefits, not only the pain was subsiding but my energy level was much higher. I also gained a much better understanding of how certain exercises and daily postures at my desk job were hurting my back, and mistakes I was doing in my yoga practice.

As time went by, I was pain free and I had regained my pre-pregnancy body. He also challenged me to be more active and I felt inspired and physically ready to pursue other goals like surfing.

In sum, after one year, I went from injuries to reconnecting with my younger active-self. I also learned how to properly perform a range of exercises from postural to higher demand that I can practice anywhere I go.

I consider myself lucky to have found such a well-rounded trainer. He taught me to be a bit more patient, that sometimes transformation may not come immediately, but with a bit of work, it can be very rewarding!

Stick to him, and enjoy a healthy life!”

“I’ve been training with Ben Baron for more than 3 years.  As an avid basketball player, I’ve had my share of knee and ankle problems.  Not only has Ben helped me safely recover from these injuries, he has also helped me build strength, improve my flexibility and align my posture. As a result, this has helped extend my ability to play competitive basketball and live an active lifestyle, while avoiding future injuries.  His approach is unlike any other trainer I have worked with.  He has specific education in function and alignment and works these exercises into his weight training. If you’re looking for a very experienced trainer who really cares, hire Ben.”

“Fitness has always been a part of my lifestyle as far back as I can remember.  It wasn't until I started training with Ben, however, that I learned how to properly train my body to gain strength and balance with proper form and function. Throughout high school and college, I played sports. Weight lifting was essential to growth and improvement on the playing field, and my goal was to train for size and strength.  The notion of lifting as heavy as possible was drilled into me by my coaches. I pushed more weight than I could handle with what I thought to have been proper technique and form.

After graduating, I started to work with various personal trainers at big chain gyms.  Here, not much changed in terms of training methods.  I did become bigger and stronger, but I also became less flexible over time. As a consequence I was constantly sore and stiff and started to suffer from chronic back pain. I also noticed that my body seemed to be growing muscularly unbalanced, and at the time, I didn’t understand why.

It all came to a head when my personal trainer (at the time) had me perform a questionable exercise, culminating in a torn Achilles' tendon.  The healing process was painfully long.  Needless to say, it was a huge blow to my fitness and overall health.  It also made me realize just how LITTLE most big chain Personal Trainers knew about proper training methods. I was frustrated.

After about a year, I was finally given the green light by my Doctor to resume gym activity.  I was ready and excited to get back into it! At the time, although I spoke with many trainers, I was apprehensive to work with ANY of them, as I felt like none of them had a clue.  It was at that point that I happened to meet Ben.  We chatted and he gave me a Fitness Assessment based on my fitness and injury history, the type of work I do, and where I would ideally like to be health-wise.  Naturally from my past experience, I was skeptical at first, but Ben explained his approach with a focus on Posture and Function clearly and his understanding of anatomy and proper workout methodology won me over.

Ben taught me how to look at the body differently, attacking a workout based on proper Posture, Form and Function while also eating clean. In 13 months of training with Ben, I went from a soft 207 lbs. (23% body fat) to a lean 165 lbs. (14% body fat). In addition, he was great about centering a program based around my work and lifestyle. As an artist, I work long hours at a desk, which also contributed to my tightness and back pain. Ben helped me combat this sedentary work behavior by providing postural cues and office exercises to utilize throughout my day. These posture based exercises were a game changer for me. This paradigm shift has not only allowed me to have a better quality of life (pain-free in the gym and at my desk), but it has also allowed me to have a full recovery from my torn Achilles tendon, feeling stronger and better than I did before the injury ever occurred!

Thank you, Ben!”

“There is hope!  I can not recommend Ben enough.  I have been suffering from chronic neck and jaw pain for the last 10 years.  In the last 3 years the pain had moved down to my hip and lower back, the pain was so immense that I dreaded walking from my car to the house.  I had tried everything: chiropractor, massage therapists, acupuncture, general practioners; I've changed shoes, diet and exercise routines and the pain never ceased.  After my first session with Ben I was overwhelmed by the sensation that it was the first time in my life that the pain had subsided.  The effects are immediate and lasting, next week will be my fifth session with Ben and I am looking forward to continuing my healing and realignment of my body. Bottom line...Ben can help you if you want to help yourself.”

“I have worked with Ben Baron for several years to correct issues surrounding surgery I had on my back L5/S1. He has helped to improve my posture and reduce my pain level tremendously. Ben is very professional and thoughtful in preparing a  program which will suit the the needs of the individual. His followup is excellent as well. I would strongly recommend Ben and his programs to anyone in need of improved body mechanic's, conditioning and reduced pain.”

“As a rock climber who spends 2-3 sessions a week at the climbing gym and weekends climbing outside, I found myself in a cycle of chronic injury and fatigue. I had resorted to taking four months off from the activity I love, and was worried I needed to take more time to heal. I tried physical therapy and other methods recommended by fellow climbers, but I did not find these to be useful.

After meeting Ben, I found that he was able to problem solve the pain I had in my right shoulder and tendonitis in my elbows. As soon as he walked me through a posture assessment and a series of exercises, I felt a big difference in how my body felt. Also, I realized that these overuse injuries were part of a bigger whole within what he pointed out as dysfunctional movement patterns. I was shocked at how I had been damaging my body with my own lack of knowledge. Through his method, I become more aware of how to effectively use my body as a collective whole.

Thanks to Ben’s expertise, I am for once very hopeful about my future in rock climbing and see longevity as a realistic possibility!”
